What we do

There is a place for every kind of help.

Kiss Csillag Public Benefit Foundation primarily helps families and children in hardship in the Southern Great Plain. Sometimes what is needed is food; at other times a schoolbag, a washing machine, or a Christmas gift makes an enormous difference.

We do not think in ready-made parcels. We try to give what that person or family actually needs.

Everyday help

When the next campaign cannot wait.

There are times when a family does not need a holiday collection, but help right now.

We help families for whom even everyday living is hard, with non-perishable food and basic food parcels.

We find a new home for furniture and household items that are no longer needed but still usable, with families for whom they are real help.

Yearly programmes

Starting school and Christmas are moments when many families need support at once — and that takes everyone pulling together.

Back-to-school support

Starting school is a major expense for every family. We put the packs together to match each child’s needs and what the school asks for.

Year after year we put together personalised Christmas gift boxes for nearly 500 children. We pack the boxes together with volunteers.

Individual help

Because no two life situations are the same.

Sometimes a family needs help no one could plan for. Then we try to bring together those who can give and those who need it.

How we work

How does help reach the people who need it?

    We learn what is needed

    Health visitors, family support workers, teachers, institutions and the families themselves can all contact us.

  2. 02

    We see what we can already give

    First we look for what is already in our warehouse.

  3. 03

    If needed, we organise a drive

    If the help is not already there, we try to organise a targeted collection or gift.

  4. 04

    The help arrives

    We take the gifts to the people who need them.
