Everyday help

Food

When even day-to-day living is a struggle.

The situation

When a whole family falls on hard times, we work so that no one has to go hungry even then. Sometimes the household budget needs relief for a few weeks — sometimes it lasts for months.

How we help

Every single item has a place, and will have one. We gratefully thank every gift, even a single tin — it will already be on a family table.

We collect non-perishable food all year and take it to families for whom — even temporarily — it helps. Some families receive a larger mixed food box only now and then, every few months, or before Easter; others, especially those with young children and older people, we support with food every month.

How you can help

We gladly accept (please watch for later expiry dates, and tell us if something is close to expiry): flour, semolina, salt, sugar, oil/lard, UHT milk, rice, pasta, buckwheat, yellow peas, beans, lentils, tins (fish, meat, ready meals, pâté, fish salads, corn/beans/peas, etc.), pudding, cocoa, tea, coffee, sweets (biscuits, wafers, chocolate, candy), soft drinks, juices, and anything you think would help a family in hardship.
